The hand-painted watercolor was the second painting of the same flower subject. The focus of the painting was pattern, shapes and transparent color. This is a one-of-a-kind, original watercolor (not a print) that will fit nicely into many small spaces.

The somewhat abstract, yet representational watercolor was painted in a fresh, transparent variety of greens with an accent of yellow.

  • I sometimes paint with a plein air group in the Lansing area. We go to different locations around the area. This painting was inspirered by flowers at the Meridian Historical Village in Okomos, Michigan. The one-of-a-kind watercolor was the second of two paintings of the same scene. I didn't want to be so tied to details, but wanted to focus on fun patterns and transparent colors.
