This original watercolor captures a quiet alley at Cesar Chavez and Turner in Old Town, Lansing, painted at the end of my plein air art group season. It might have been one of our last outings, with artists lined up along Turner Street. This alley’s unique shapes caught my eye more than the front of a building. The painting offers an intimate glimpse into local life, revealing how residents live with their flower-adorned patios and personal touches. My focus was to catch the warmth and character of Old Town through this piece.
