I don't do this too often, but for this scene, I decided I wanted to paint both - a watercolor and an oil painting. I set the scene up on an enclosed desk with one light source in my office and placed a dark background behind the sugar bowl and cup. I added the lemon for color and variety. I took my time and painted both the watercolor and oil. I use the sugar bowl in several of my still life paintings.
